Announcement: Updated Invoices, Buyer received item
We've some improvements to the iOffer Invoicing system. Both the buyer and seller pages have been updated; 1) creating invoices as a seller and 2) viewing/making payments as a buyer. The changes we have made are the layout of the page, which is much cleaner and consise. We will soon be introducing an HTML email invoice that is sent to the buyer to facilitate payments being made.
We have also added a buyer feature that will allow buyers to mark transactions as "Received" or not. Visit your "Items Bought" section to view.

Announcement: iOfferLive Notification & iOffer Photo albums
We've released the iOfferLive notification system! Now, when you are logged in to iOffer, you will recieve "LiveNotification" from our system the instant you receive a message. You can update your Live Notification preferences here
We have also added the ability to upload photos to your profile page. You can create albums, upload pictures and share them with the entire iOffer community. There is currently no limit on the number of pictures you can upload.

Announcement: Club alerts, Buyer improvements, Checkout enhancments
We've made it even easier to buy an item on iOffer. New buyers no longer have to register to make an offer or ask a question, they can simply fill out the question or offer form and enter their email address/contact information. Buyers also will be taken through the checkout process immediately once they confirm their purchase.
We have added alerting options to iOfferClubs. You can setup alerts for an entire club or a single thread. Alerts will be sent immediately or once daily (your preference). To use this feature simply login and view your clubs.

Announcement: Store enhancements (custom store look, store window and store keywords)
We have added a few new features to enhance your iOfferStore. Your store items will now share the same look as your customized iOffer store. We have also cleaned this page up and added a few new buttons to ease the buyers experience while browsing your store. We have also added a "store window" to the store welcome page that scrolls through your items so buyers no longer need to click "next" to see what else is in your store (this is also included on each store item page). Another feature recently added are store keywords. Near the bottom of the store welcome page you will notice a block of keywords in different sizes. The bigger the font size is, the more occurances of the keyword you have in your store.

iOffer is pleased to announce the availability of iOffer Local. You are now able to search Items for Sale based on zip code, city, region, or state. iOffer Local is a great way to conduct business in your off-line community. This allows a buyer to pick up a purchase without having to pay for shipping. Sellers are able to collect payment in person and avoid electronic payment fees. Printed flyers, and listing descriptions, can effectively advertise an item for local pick-up. Top Local Regions are displayed on the iOffer Home Page. Advanced search by location and category is available from iOffer Local (insert link). Search for both iOffer and iOfferLite is based on distance from selected location.
Local is a great way to sell real estate and a car, boat, or truck for free! Real estate and iOffer Motors listings have no final value fees.

We are pleased to announce the re-design of the iOffer Home Page. In addition to streamlined appearance and navigation, we have introduced a new logo on tagline: iOffer - An easier way to buy and sell. This message highlights the mission of iOffer, to provide an easy, safe, and cost effective way to sell online. Selling online shouldn't require a third party or multiple screens to list an item. Announcement: New item Search
We've developed a new way of searching items in a person to person marketplace. Most marketplaces don't provide buyers with accurate results. Search results are displayed in order of the expiration date rather than by item relevancy. Our new search incorporates many different attributes of a listing and results are sorted by our internal ranking algorithm. One more thing - you no longer need to search within "Titles & Descriptions", our search now includes both of these fields by default. We have introduced a "Message Center" in your account that will alert you whenver you receive a message on iOffer. The Message Center was designed to help with the current SPAM problems that everyone is facing on the Internet. The Message Center is located in the upper right hand side of the screen when you are logged in and it will display the number of unread messages you have.

Finally, we upgraded the search to keep up with the growth of the
community. The search is faster than before, and we have added some
advanced features. Now, if you are crazy about stars, but not about
star wars, you can use the exclude feature. Simply type the word
you are looking for, ?star? and be sure to include a minus sign
before the word you don?t want, ?star -wars.? To see the rest of

We just launched
iOfferStores, an alternative to fixed priced stores offered by many
auction sites. iOfferStores are automatically available to all iOffer
sellers at no additional cost. We feel that fixed price stores are
actually a step backwards and offer no real advantage to either
the buyer or seller. Our stores clearly give the buyer an incentive
to buy multiple items from a single seller.
With
ordinary fixed price stores a buyer receives no advantage whether
they buy a single item or 100. With iOfferStores a buyer simply
enters a sellers store and selects the items they desire. Once they
are done selecting they make the seller an offer on the entire bundle.
The seller can than either accept the offer or make a counter offer.
This system allows the seller to give the buyer a volume price break.
IOffer charges the seller a final value fee based on the total transaction
rather than each individual item.
For example
a seller would be charged a final value fee based on $40 for a transaction
of 20 $2 baseball cards. The system was originally designed for
low priced items such as trading cards and coins but works equally
well for a person looking to buy a laptop, extra batteries and a
carrying case. iOfferStores are the closest thing to real life buyer
and seller interaction.
An iOfferStore
is automatically created for any seller who has two or more items
listed on iOffer. Listing is free and sellers can easily mirror

We're Doing to Prevent Fraud on iOffer
At
iOffer we take fraud very seriously. We have been very successful
in our first two months of catching fraud before it affected our users,
doing everything we can to protect our community. We strongly believe
that one the best ways to protect our community is by being honest
and open with our community, not by pretending it doesn't exist.
Of course, fraud occurs in the real world. By many measures it occurs
in the real world more often than on the Internet. We are still not
satisfied with this fact. We want fraud to be reduced even more. We
are doing our part. We have designed sophisticated systems to alert
our staff to potentially fraudulent transactions. Our system is called
CARNIVORE and it has been very successful
in rooting out fraud before it affects our users. But technology by
itself is not enough.
Our open system also helps to root out fraud before it harms honest
users. Everything on iOffer is open - including questions, answers
and offers. This is an enormous advantage in catching fraud even before
it occurs. There is no place to hide here.
To stay true to our belief of being open and honest about fraud, we
have also decided to start a message board dedicated to the discussion
of fraud in general and potential fraudulent situations on iOffer.
This is the new Community
Watch board. It is only by exposing the fraud and getting the
entire community involved we will beat it completely!

Final Value Fee Lowered.
Sellers of lower-priced items will be happy to know that we have lowered
our minimum final value fee! In fact, we?ve added two new lower fee
levels. Click here to view

by community members. They asked for a lower minimum fee and we listened.
Of course, listing an item is still free - you only pay if you make
a sale!
This new fee schedule is effective on July 1, 2002. No listing or
